Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google
for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing and grading
assignments in a paperless way. Users can access this service through computers
or the mobile app. The primary purpose of the Google Classroom is the process
of sharing files between teachers and students. Google Classroom combines
Google Drive for assignment creation and distribution, Google Docs, Sheets and
Slides for writing, Gmail for communication, and Google Calendar for scheduling.
My Study Life
My Study Life is a web and mobile school planner
application. It allows users to create their class schedule for the semester,
exams list and tasks list in the same environment. The dashboard’s tasks tab is
a focused list of tasks that require immediate action such as those incomplete
and due in the next 3 days, or ones which are overdue. Exams tab is useful to
get advanced warning about upcoming exams, so we’ve added a list of exams that
occur in the next 7 days to the dashboard. This app provides rotation schedule
and color codes features to plan and understand one’s class schedule at a
glance. I use this app because it allows me to organize my classes in a visually pleasing way and I can do many thing using one app instead of multiple apps. And it also shows holidays, upcoming event on the calendar.
Duolingo: Learn Languages Free
Duolingo is a free language learning platform that provides
lessons and tests via web and mobile application. Duolingo teaches one to read,
write, listen, and speak in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian,
Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Irish, Danish, Swedish, Ukrainian, Esperanto,
Polish, Greek, Hungarian, Norwegian, Hebrew, Welsh, and English. One will
improve their vocabulary and grammar skills by answering questions and
completing lessons. Duolingo is loved by millions of users, and available on
both Android and IOS platforms.Since it is available on android and IOS, it is very easy to use in a classroom. Level based achievements and score encourage students to learn and test their knowledge of a particular language.
Khan Academy is an online education tool which provides
video lesson courses in many subject areas such as math, science, engineering,
computing, economics, finance, and arts and humanities. Khan Academy offers
courses from kindergarten to college level. Khan Academy mobile app is very
popular among students because it is free and one can access their courses
anytime anywhere. Quizzes, practice questions, instants feedback, step by step
hints, and unit test help students to improve their knowledge of course
materials. Personally, I consider this app as my personal tutor. Regardless the subject or the question I always find answers to my questions through this learning platform.
Study.com – Online Courses
The Study.com app
will help you learn any academic subject on the go. Their short, fun video
lessons, taught by expert teachers, provide homework help for difficult topics
from your classes with easy-to-understand examples and animations.
Study.com offers over 35,000 educational video lessons in various subject areas
such as algebra, calculus, discrete math, history, chemistry, biology, logic,
grammar, reading, and writing and build confidence for tests with SAT and ACT
prep tests. Users can download their lessons on the device for watch them
offline. This app will help students to understand difficult lessons and engaged
in their education process in a fun way.
Google suit
Google suit consist of google apps that are used for collaborations within a group of certain people, which can be from a business group project in school or any other uses that involves communication among more than one person and sharing of ideas. These apps are known as Gmail, Docs, Drive and a calendar app.
Microsoft office
Microsoft Office also known as office 365 consist Microsoft office consist off various applications which are free on mobile devices and include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and OneNote. Word is used to create documents and also provides you with the ability to share the work you have done with others. Excel provides you with the opportunity to create tables enter in formulas and set up more that one column of information within a document and allows other colleges to have permission to update certain tables by sharing the created documents with others. PowerPoint also has the option to share your work with others, this application is mainly used for presentations. Outlook is a free email app provided by Microsoft so that you can safely communicate through email with others. OneDrive is an online storage app that allows you to save work in folders online and can be accessed as long as you have you have an internet connection on any device. OneNote is an app which allows you to draw, attach screenshots, attach audio videos or voice clips, and even allows you to upload photos you might want to draw on to this application.
Blackboard
Blackboard is another application used in colleges for learning, the way this works is the professor will post up practice exams for student and later students will log onto blackboard and be able to take the practice exams online and if a problem or question is raised the student has a place where they can contact the instructor. You can also view your test and exam grades through out the semester which is good way to help you see areas where improvement is needed.

I use this app to order to learn about was is happening around the world and how this can come to affect me in the united states for example a recent case of Romanian lettuce that is infected with bacteria and has already caused 4 people to deaths within the U.S so far. This app helps inform you about other countries governments current events occurring in other countries and many other categories. I have recently used this app for my urban sociology class where we had to read several articles on gentrification as well and environmental racism that were taking place in certain parts of Queens and Brooklyn.
